About Yoga Therapy
WHAT IS YOGA THERAPY
Yoga Therapy is a personalised and therapeutic approach to yoga that supports the body’s natural ability to heal and rebalance. Rather than a general yoga class, sessions are tailored specifically to your unique needs, health concerns, and life circumstances.
It combines gentle movement, breathwork, relaxation techniques, and somatic awareness to help regulate the nervous system, reduce pain and tension, and restore a deeper sense of connection with your body.
Yoga Therapy works with the whole person — body, mind, and emotions — supporting both physical wellbeing and inner balance. All sessions are trauma-informed.
Who is Yoga Therapy for?
Yoga Therapy may support you if you are experiencing:
• Stress, anxiety, or burnout
• Nervous system dysregulation or feeling constantly overwhelmed
• Chronic tension, pain, or stiffness
• Fatigue or low energy
• Sleep difficulties
• Recovery from injury or physical imbalance
• Hormonal changes such as perimenopause
• A desire to reconnect with your body and feel more at ease within yourself
You do not need to be flexible or experienced in yoga. Sessions are gentle, supportive, and adapted to your body and ability.
What happens during a session?
Each session begins with a short conversation about how you are feeling and what you would like support with.
Depending on your needs, we may explore:
• Gentle therapeutic yoga movements
• Breathwork to calm and regulate the nervous system
• Somatic practices to release held tension
• Guided relaxation or Yoga Nidra
• Visualisation or mindfulness practices
You may also receive simple practices to take home so you can continue supporting your wellbeing between sessions.
The intention of Yoga Therapy
The goal is not to push or force the body, but to create a safe space where healing can unfold naturally. With time and consistency, many people experience greater ease in their body, more emotional balance, and a deeper sense of inner calm.
Who I Work With Best
I work best with people who are ready to slow down and listen more deeply to their bodies. Many of my clients come to Yoga Therapy because they feel overwhelmed, tense, disconnected from themselves, or simply in need of a space where they can breathe and be supported.
You might feel drawn to this work if you:
• Are experiencing stress, anxiety, or nervous system overwhelm
• Feel tension or discomfort in your body and want a gentle therapeutic approach
• Are navigating life transitions, hormonal changes, or emotional challenges
• Want to reconnect with your body in a compassionate and mindful way
• Are looking for a slower, more supportive alternative to regular yoga classes
You do not need any previous yoga experience. The practices are gentle, adaptable, and always guided with care and respect for your body.
How Yoga Therapy is Different from a Regular Yoga Class
While yoga classes can be wonderful for general wellbeing, Yoga Therapy is a personalised therapeutic approach designed to support your specific needs.
In a regular yoga class, the teacher guides a group through the same sequence of poses. The practice is designed to benefit many people at once.
In Yoga Therapy, the session is centred entirely around you.
We explore what your body, nervous system, and mind need in that moment. Practices are adapted specifically for your physical condition, emotional state, and life circumstances.
Yoga Therapy focuses less on achieving poses and more on how the practice supports your healing and balance.
In a regular yoga class you may experience:
• A shared group practice
• A set sequence of poses
• General benefits for flexibility and strength
In a Yoga Therapy session you receive:
• A personalised practice designed for your body and needs
• Support for specific challenges such as stress, pain, or fatigue
• A slower, more mindful approach focused on nervous system regulation
• Individual guidance and therapeutic tools you can use in everyday life.
Yoga Therapy is not about doing more — it is about learning to listen to the body, soften patterns of tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
For many people, it becomes a deeply supportive practice that brings not only physical relief, but also a greater sense of calm, awareness, and connection with themselves.
A Gentle Invitation
If you feel that your body is asking for more care, more rest, or more attention, Yoga Therapy can offer a supportive space to begin that journey.
Each session is a moment to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. From this place of awareness and softness, real change and healing can begin.
If this resonates with you, I warmly invite you to book a 1:1 Yoga Therapy session and take the first step toward feeling more balanced, calm, and at home in your body.
You can book one session, or a few in advanced ( and receive the disccount). Online sessions are also available.
